Valuable Resource Centre Building work set to start in Halesworth

Halesworth Community Nursing Care Fund (HCNCF) has received a £25,000 boost towards its information and support centre (ISC) project from the organisers of a popular country fair.

The charity has been given the donation by the Heveningham Hall Country Fair Trust, who pledged the money during HCNCF’s fundraising campaign and have released the funds now that it has reached its £710,000 target.

The donation will help pay for construction work, which is due to begin later this year on land next to Cutlers Hill Surgery in Halesworth.

Once building work is complete in 2018, the ISC will bring a full range of holistic services closer to home for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers. This includes benefits advice, children and family support, complementary therapies, help understanding a diagnosis, counselling and bereavement support.

It will be open to people from across south Norfolk and north east Suffolk who live within a 15-mile radius of Halesworth.

Ted Edwards, ISC chairman, said: “As ever, we are incredibly grateful for the fantastic support we have received locally, and would like to pass our thanks to the Heveningham Hall Country Fair Trust for this generous donation.

“We are delighted that we will soon be in a position to begin building work, and look forward to watching the centre develop over the coming year for the benefit of local people.

“Although we have met our £710,000 target to fund the construction, we are continuing to fundraise towards the running costs of the ISC and hope that people will continue to support us as we move into the next phase of this exciting project.”

Anne Clark, of Heveningham Hall Country Fair, said: “The Trustees of Heveningham Hall Country Fair are pleased to continue supporting HCNCF with their ISC project.”
