The 10th annual 50 Christmas Trees in a Church at All Saints Dickleburgh, drew to a close on Sunday, December 8, with the prize giving for the most popular trees voted by visitors to the festival.

Langmere Garden Club’s tree was the winner in the adult category and Gissing Children’s Centre won the children’s category for the second year running. The Nick Arnull Plate for the most innovative tree was awarded to Burston Community Primary School.

Funds raised from the event will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care  www.mariecurie.org.uk.

Rev’d Norman Steer, reflecting on his last festival in the role of event organiser said: “We have had a fabulous week in Dickleburgh with lots of visitors and happy children enjoying the trees. Our festival also provides comfort for those who visit who have lost loved ones. They remember through the trees and come closer to loved ones with the prayer tree and by lighting candles.”

“I would particularly like to thank all the volunteers who have helped set up the church and look after visitors throughout the Christmas Tree festival, which will return in 2014.”
