Brian Patten – Halesworth Arts Festival

As part of Halesworth Arts Festival, Brian Patten brings an evening of poetry.

Since making his name in the 1960s with Adrian Henri and Roger McGough and The Mersey Sound anthology, he’s written over fifty best-selling books for adults and children.

Fantastic live, don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear him deliver his bittersweet, playful and humorous poems in person.

Followed by a conversation recalling landmark moments in his writing life, prompted by The Poetry Trust’s Creative Director Dean Parkin.

The Poetry Trust’s Creative Director, Dean Parkin says, ‘Since the 1960s Brian Patten’s poems have become part of our lives, loved, memorised, read and re-read. The phrase ‘one and only’ is over-used but Brian really is a one-off – a popular poet of the people whose poems have not faded and he’s very much still kicking!’

Brian Patten is one of the UK’s best-loved poets.
