The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is delighted to announce that a total of £3,500 has been raised from the registration fees of this year’s annual bike.

On Sunday 16th July 2017, 550 cyclists took to the roads of Norfolk for the NNUH Tour Sportive in order to raise money for the hospital charity. The bike ride took participants through the quiet roads of South Norfolk and North Suffolk with a 30, 60 and 100 mile route to choose from, which proved challenging yet gave riders lovely scenic views.

Emma McKay, Director of Nursing at NNUH said: “The bike ride was a big challenge for all those who took part and we are delighted that it raised so much money. With the funds raised from last year’s bike ride, we were able to install an outdoor gym for our staff and patients to use, and with the money raised this year we are looking to use it again on enhancing staff and patient experience at the trust.”

Louise Cook, NNUH Fundraising Manager said: “It was a truly wonderful event and it was great to see so many staff members and members of the public cycling so far to raise money and awareness of the NNUH charity. Between £5- £9 per rider entry went directly to the charity in addition to any sponsorship monies individuals raised. I’d particularly like to thank Push Sport who put so much time and effort into making the ride a success and who enabled us to benefit from each registration, as well as support from Organ Donation who provided water bottle for cyclists. We are so grateful to all those that took part and we hope to see you next year at the 2018 annual bike ride!”
