The Heritage Centre in Aylsham opens again for the 2015 season on February 18^th with a brand new exhibition looking at how Aylsham has changed over the 100 years since the outbreak of the First World War. The year plan is looking full of interesting events and activities, and we will kick this season off with a children’s craft session on Friday 20^th February.

The session will have a Monsters and Robots theme .The session, which runs from 10am – 12pm, costs £4 per child and places should be booked in advance by calling 07919962814 or emailing [email protected]. Places can also be booked and paid for online via www.aylshamheritage.com. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

In a new venture for this year, we are running some “crafty cuppa” sessions. Whether it’s knitting, crochet, needle felting or something more exotic, why not bring your craft project to the centre and join with like-mined people to craft and chat over a cuppa. Relax, meet people, share ideas, get creative and have a good chin wag. There is no charge for these sessions, but donations towards refreshments are welcomed. First Friday in every month, beginning Friday March 6^th, from 10.30 – 12.30pm (please bring own materials to work with)

Last year we established a “Friends of Aylsham Heritage Centre” scheme to involve people in the centre and help to raise some funds. Our new year’s resolution is to welcome more Friends to the centre! It costs just £10 a year!

• Invitation to events to preview new exhibitions
• Free entry to one event/activity during the course of the year

To help to welcome you as our friend we are hosting too “Friends only” events in the new year to celebrate the centre re-opening for the new season. We are hosting special preview events so that our friends can view our new exhibition. These will be on Tuesday 17^th February between 6.30 and 8pm and on Wednesday 18^th between 10 and 11am. Become a friend and join us for a drink, a warm welcome and a chance to view the new exhibition. You can complete the friends membership form and make the £10 donation at either one of these events. All those who join us as friends will also be entered into a free prize draw to thank you for your generosity.
