Beccles Charter Weekend 2015
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July sees the Beccles Open Gardens and Spaces event take place with approximately 25 gardens open to the public to view.
Programmes are available for £5 (children free) on the days from Beccles Museum in Ballygate from 10am with the gardens open each day from 11am to 5pm. The museum will be open and will include a display of artwork from Sir John Leman High School students.
Saturday’s programme includes a free river trip on the ‘Betsie Jane’ to see the riverside gardens. BACT (Beccles and Bungay Area Community Area Transport) will be available on both days to transport people around the gardens. Sunday will also see heavy horses and carriages offering transport around the town.
Funds from Beccles Open Gardens will go to support the ‘Friends of St Michael’s South Porch Appeal’.
Beccles Church Tower will be open both days (Saturday 10am – 4pm and Sunday 11.30am-3pm). Also on both days inside St Michael’s Church will be an exhibition from the Norfolk and Suffolk Weavers, Spinners and Dyers Guilds
On the Sunday, in addition to the Open Gardens, there will be a nautical themed fayre at Beccles Quay from 9am with music, stalls, a bar, pony rides etc. The afternoon will see a river cavalcade and a water bike race.
