BEE A NATURE EXPLORER

‘BEE A NATURE EXPLORER’

EVENT CREATES A BUZZ AT PENSTHORPE NATURAL PARK

Set in the beautiful Wensum Valley in the heart of the Norfolk countryside and voted Best Large Visitor Attraction 2014*, multi award-winning Pensthorpe Natural Park is more than just a showcase for conservation and wildlife.

The Park which offers a wholesome fun-packed day out for wildlife-lovers and children of all ages, has this week announced details of one of its spring events, ‘Bee a Nature Explorer’, created for families and friends to enjoy nature at its very best.

Open daily starting on 14th until 22nd February 2015 from 10am – 4pm, many visitors will have their first glimpse of spring at this special half-term event. During this outdoor bonanza, which is themed around shelters and keeping warm through the winter, visitors can celebrate nature-inspired adventure play with activities such as den building, wildlife talks, games, quizzes and photo competitions.

During Bee a Nature Explorer, those with a love of the outdoors can experience the Park’s fun Self-Guided Trail to discover some fascinating British wildlife and find out where they live and how they stay warm.

Visitors will have a chance to participate in a Den Building competition. There will also be three outdoor ‘Photo Booths’, where families can get creative and capture photographs of their visit to Pensthorpe.

Nature-loving children can seek out hedgehog clues woven across the park and have the opportunity to make their own ‘Hector the Hedgehog’ out of play dough and natural materials in the WildRootz marquee. There will also be Nature Activities and Puzzles and even a special “Hootz” fact sheet about How to Make Fat Balls at home for garden birds, to help them through the winter.

Those attending the event can also spot the Park’s resident Red Squirrels and also meet the resident hedgehog.

This full day out is all included in the standard admission price: Adults £11.25, Children (3-16 yrs) £9.75, Seniors (60+) £9.50.
