Norwich Fashion Week 2016

Norwich Fashion Week March 10-17, 2016

Big C makes its catwalk debut at Norwich Fashion Week

If you think charity shops only stock 1980s frumpy wedding dresses, be prepared to have your head and mind turned by the gowns worn by models strutting the catwalk during the first Dipple and Conway Hair Show at

OPEN on Friday March 11 during Norwich Fashion Week 2016.

The stunning artistry of some of Norwich’s leading hairdressers in the bridal category will be enhanced by pre-loved, and some new, gowns from Norfolk’s Big C specialist bridal boutique in a first for the county’s cancer charity.

“It is a fantastic honour for gowns from our bridal boutique to be included on the catwalk in the inaugural hair show and especially in the Big C’s 35th anniversary year,” said Head of Retail Ashley Bunn. “It should be in every prospective-bride’s “go see and try” wedding planner. The quality and styles are great and there is a range of sizes to try. We have attentive well-trained staff who know their gowns and are on hand to give a personal service and advice.”

Shoppers walking past the Big C shop in Timberhill will have noticed the window has been dressed especially for Norwich Fashion Week.  It now features at least four bridal gowns and accessories, to help promote the show; a transformation that has prompted an unprecedented sales lift, with an increase in visitors and a dress being sold virtually every day since!

Inside the boutique is plenty of choice from lace, beaded, laced up backs, all shades of white, cream and ivory to ruffles and layers of organza reflecting this season’s key fashion trends, and international designer names such as Maggie Sottero.

At any one time there are at least 80 dresses to transform any size or shape into a dream bride-to-be, whether it is a beach wedding or a more formal occasion. Many gowns are from this year’s collections and prices range from £95-£900, with an average price of £250, depending on condition. There is also a range of accessories and silk bridal shoes, hats and veils.

Some brides send in their dresses within a few weeks of the wedding and one mother of the bride even returned from the big day Australia with the dress to sell! “The advantage of buying from Big C is that you get something you wouldn’t find in other shops,” said Ashley “ any every bride wants to make her own impact on her big day.”

The Big C bridal shop always needs new stock, so let the happy memory of your big day live on and help cancer patients and their families by donating today. Dresses are always needed. The shop is open daily, except Sundays, no appointment needed.
