Bungay Film

Dear All,

Good to see you in such numbers at our screening of HUMAN CAPITAL last month.  Many thanks to those of you who joined or rejoined the Bungay Film Club.

You’ve probably noticed that it’s a lean time for cinema at the Fisher.  No show from us this month because the Fisher Youth Theatre will be rehearsing their new production of WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND.  Be warned that tickets for the four shows on 3, 4 and 5 December are selling fast, with only a few places left at 7.30 on the Saturday evening.

The film club will be back next month on:

Monday 7 December at 7.30 pm.

TRASH (15)

UK/Brazil 2014.  114 minutes. In English, and Portuguese with subtitles.

Director: Stephen Daldry.  Starring:  Rickson Tevez, Gabriel Weinstein, Eduardo Luis, Martin Sheen and Rooney Mara.

This engaging drama set in Rio centres on three boys who find a cash-filled wallet while scavenging on a rubbish tip.  After spending the money, they discover that the wallet belongs to a corrupt politician who wants it back.  TRASH stars a trio of charismatic non-professionals and is co-written by Richard Curtis (THE VICAR OF DIBLEY and LOVE ACTUALLY).  Director Stephen Daldry rediscovers the energy that powered his first film, BILLY ELLIOT, and finds hope and humour amid the squalor of the slums.
