The packed weekend of events kicks off, on the Friday, with ‘Frank Sonata & the Acciaccaturas’,  a Youth Jazz Band, followed on the Saturday evening with a classical concert featuring Susie Meszaros (world-renowned viola player who studied under Yehudi Menuhin).  During the Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning Music Taster Lessons are offering in a range of instruments including Organ, Viola, Flue, Bells, Guitar and Drums.  The weekend is then wrapped up on the Sunday afternoon with an ‘Open Mic’ session for local musicians.

Joan Hocking, one of the organisers of the Carleton Rode Music Festival, said,  “We  know how much talent there is in the village and surrounding areas and we’d love to hear from anyone who is interested in performing on the Sunday.  We’re looking for all genre, whether it is rock, gospel, folk pop or classical – we’d like something for everyone”

Artists will need to be able to fill a 20 minute slot and able to bring their own equipment.  If anyone interested in performing on the day please call Pat Graham on 01953 860294 or email Joan Hocking on [email protected]

Tickets for the Friday and Saturday events are now available from Pat Graham on 01953 860294.  The Sunday afternoon Open Mic event is free to attend  and there are no charges for the taster music sessions but donations would be gratefully accepted.
