The Government’s campaign to encourage better hygiene in the wake of swine flu has yet to produce anything as entertaining as Richard Massingham’s film, which would lead to the famous mantra: “Coughs and Sneezes Spread Diseases”.

This is one of Massingham’s most famous public information films (in which he often starred), which educated and entertained audiences throughout the 1940s and 1950s. (Alex Davidson)
