Pensthorpe Wildlife & Gardens near Fakenham in Norfolk is giving visitors the chance to discover the scary side of nature this Halloween with its Trick or Tweet event between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 27th October to Sunday 4th November 2012.
Visitors will be surrounded by pumpkins and lanterns and be quizzed on their wildlife knowledge as they embark on a scary Bug Walk around the Reserve to discover more about the bugs, beasts and bats that share our world.
As well as finding out about some spooky local stories, brave visitors can get into the spirit of Halloween by dressing up in a Halloween outfit. Children in the best fancy dress will be in with a chance of winning a shiveringly good prize.
Kirsty Willingham, Events Manager at Pensthorpe Wildlife & Gardens, comments: “Our scariest event of the year is about to descend on Norfolk! Trick or Tweet features creepy crawlies which, although not the prettiest or fluffiest of our wildlife, are all harmless and loveable! Wrap up warm and discover nature this Half Term at Pensthorpe with lots of activities to keep the whole family entertained.”
Halloween also marks the start of the popular daily winter floodlit feeds at 4pm. Watch the birds flock for an eerie and magical insight into the range of rare and colourful birds Pensthorpe attracts, all just before dusk sets in. Sit in the Viewing Gallery or blow away those spooky cobwebs in the outdoors, whilst learning about the different breeds of birds and how to feed them all on this fully commentated event.
Entry to Trick or Tweet is included in the regular Pensthorpe entrance price which is £6.25 for children, £8.00 for seniors and £9.75 for adults. Alternatively it’s FREE for Pensthorpe Season Card holders and under 4’s.
