Discover nature with the family this summer!
Families visiting a Suffolk nature reserve this summer can enjoy a variety of fun activities as they discover nature and explore the Wild Zone.
Every Monday at RSPB Minsmere is grandees day, where grandparents can have fun pond dipping and minibeast hunting with their grandchildren. Minibeasts are again the theme on Tuesdays, while Wednesdays see families dissecting owl pellets to find out what the owls have had for their dinner. On Thursdays, the Waveney Bird Club will be running their every popular bird ringing demonstrations.
RSPB spokesman, Ian Barthorpe, said:

“Minsmere is a great day out for everyone. As well as the stunning scenery and fantastic wildlife, our new Wild Zone and Wild Wood Adventure help families to discover nature whilst having fun. In the Wild Zone they can become play in tunnels as sand martins or sit on a bittern’s eggs in a willow-woven nest, before building a den in the Wild Wood Adventure. Our exciting programme of walks and events, led by enthusiastic volunteers, help make a visit even more enjoyable.”

There is no charge for any of these activities, although usual reserve entry fees apply. All activities will run from 10 am to 4 pm, and run from Monday 23 July to Thursday 30 August 2012. For further details, please call 01728 648281 or see www.rspb.org.uk/minsmere.
