Pensthorpe Wildlife & Gardens near Fakenham in Norfolk is celebrating the Easter holidays with the return of its cracking Easter Eggstravagansa, taking place daily from 10am to 5pm between 28th March and 14th April 2013.

An ‘egg-cellent’ way to celebrate the Easter holidays and get the whole family outdoors, the event teaches visitors about the natural world plus a fascinating self-guided trail weaves explorers through the Reserve, unearthing secrets about enchanting Easter traditions and nature in the spring time.

The egg-citing trail incorporates different questions and activities and is a great way to keep little ones entertained while teaching them about spring and Easter traditions. Those who complete the hands-on trail and fill out their activity sheet will collect an Easter prize!

Easter is an especially great time to visit as the Wensum Discovery Tour* has just started up for the season. Taking visitors across hidden areas of the Reserve and parts of the estate the public wouldn’t normally see, the Discovery Tour covers the fascinating history of the estate and is a great chance to see rare breed Long Horn Cattle with their calves whilst sitting in the comfort of Pensthorpe’s purpose built Landrover and trailer.

Kirsty Willingham, Events Manager at Pensthorpe Wildlife & Gardens comments: “From the flora and fauna to the lambs bouncing around the meadows, spring is one of the best times of year to explore the Reserve and get children outdoors. There will be lots of interactive and hands-on activities such as an egg and spoon race and other self-led Easter games. The whole family will have a great day out and our special Easter events are perfect for mini explorers to learn and see nature first hand.”

The Easter Eggstravagansa is included in the normal admission price.
