Easter-at-Pensthorpe

Pensthorpe Natural Park near Fakenham in Norfolk is celebrating the Easter holidays with the return of its cracking Easter Eggstravagansa, taking place daily from 10am to 5pm between 5th to 22nd April 2014.

Hands-on nature games and a self-guided trail will enable visitors to get up close and personal with the natural world. Leap like a frog, see the world through the eyes of a bug,  hop like a hare and learn about hedgehogs.

With a focus on spring time and the baby animals which hatch or are born at this abundant time of year, see the new arrivals in the brooder room or play a lambing activity.

On Monday 14th April, there’s an added treat for visitors; Sally North will present her magical, musical puppet show ‘Short’nin’ Bread and the Sparrows’ at 11am and 2pm in The Wensum Room. Spaces at both showings are limited so booking is essential.

Easter is an especially great time to visit as the Wensum Discovery Tour* has just started up for the season. Taking visitors across hidden areas of the Reserve and parts of the estate the public wouldn’t normally see, the Discovery Tour covers the fascinating history of the estate and is a great chance to see rare breed Long Horn Cattle with their calves whilst sitting in the comfort of Pensthorpe’s purpose built Landrover and trailer.

Mark Noble, Commercial Manager at Pensthorpe Natural Park comments: “Spring is a fantastic time to get outdoors and learn more about nature. Our event is primarily fun but also educational so parents and children can uncover fascinating facts, meet some of the Pensthorpe inhabitants or play out on WildRootz; our new two-acre outdoor activity development.”

The Easter Eggstravagansa is included in the normal Pensthorpe admission price.
