Sam Sweeney’s Fiddle – Made in the Great War
Bellowhead’s Sam Sweeney & Paul Sartin, with story-teller Hugh Lupton & concertina player Rob Harbron use music, storytelling and film to tell the true story of a part-made violin abandoned by Richard Spencer Howard, who went to fight in World War I. Sam was recently named ‘Musician of the Year’ at the BBC Folk Awards 2015.

One of the few Zambian artists performing in Europe, Namvula has shared the stage with artists including legendary South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela and sitar player Anoushka Shankar, before embarking on her blossoming solo project. Namvula draws heavily on her Zambian heritage as well as referencing her Scottish roots and life in the diaspora, to produce an intoxicating and unique blend of uplifting global sounds.
