Fairhaven Garden Candelabra Primula Tours

Head to Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden at South Walsham, on Wednesdays in May for a guided tour with Head Gardener, Ian Guest, showcasing the garden’s candelabra primulas.  Find out about their care and propagation, then at the end of the tour enjoy a cream tea with home made scones, jam and clotted cream and a pot of tea or cup of coffee.

Tours start at 2pm on Wednesdays, May 3, May 10, May 17, and May 24. The cost of the tour and tea, including garden entry, is £11.50 per person. Booking is advisable.

There is also Sunday morning Primula Guided Tour with Ian Guest on May 21 at 11am, included in the garden entry charge: adult £6.75, concessions £6.15, child £3.85 (under 5 free).

Some 25,000 candelabra primulas, the largest naturalised collection in the UK, will be on show throughout May until early June. The candelabra primulas, displaying all the colours of the rainbow, can be viewed beside the footpaths and water filled dykes that criss-cross the garden.

The garden is open daily all year from 10am to 5pm (closed Christmas Day), and on Wednesdays until 9pm from May to the end of August. Garden entry is £6.75 adult, £6.15 concessions, £3.85 child (under 5 free); free entry to tearoom, gift shop and plant sales.

There is wheelchair access throughout the garden, including a Sensory Garden and an accessible boat for trips on the broad from April to October (additional charge). Visitors requiring special facilities are advised to telephone in advance, mobility scooters available.

Dogs are welcome on leads; small charge to cover poop scoop.
