Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden, at South Walsham, is staging a series of free Sunday afternoon concerts throughout July in the tearoom picnic area.

The series kicks off with The Busketeers of Sheringham on Sunday, July 2, from 2pm to 4pm. The Busketeers of Sheringham is a six-piece band who perform to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Playing a variety of instruments, their repertoire focuses mainly on the popular music of the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, including skiffle, country and folk.

Sunday, July 9, Norfolk Jazz Quartet. The quartet plays swinging jazz standards and melodic music from the Great American Song Book on a combination of clarinet, saxophone, guitar, bass and drums. Free concert in tearoom picnic area.

Wrentham Band
Wrentham Band

Sunday 16 July, Wrentham Band: a traditional brass band that has been entertaining audiences since 1919 with music from all genres as well as original brass band compositions. Free concert in tearoom picnic area.

Sunday 23 July, Great Yarmouth Brass plays foot-tapping show selections, film music, war time singalongs and marches.

Sunday 30 July, The Classic Dixieland Trio plays a selection of favourites from the golden age of popular music and jazz standards with a Dixieland feel.

Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden is at South Walsham NR13 6DZ, nine miles east Norwich, signposted off A47 at B1140 junction, t. 01603 270449, www.fairhavengarden.co.uk.

Fairhaven is open daily all year from 10am to 5pm (closed Christmas Day), and on Wednesdays until 9pm from May to the end of August. Garden entry is adult £6.75, concessions £6.15, child £3.85 (under 5 free). Free entry to tearoom, gift shop and plant sales.

There is wheelchair access throughout the garden, including a Sensory Garden and an accessible boat for trips on the broad from April to October (additional charge). Visitors requiring special facilities are advised to telephone in advance, mobility scooters available.

Dogs are welcome on leads; small charge to cover poop scoop.
