Explore the natural world at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden, South Walsham during October half term, with Grow Your Own Oak Tree Week (October 20 to 29), Hedgehog Day (October 21) and Fungi Foray (October 28).

Grow Your Own Oak Tree Week, is from Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 29, 10am to 4pm. Forage for an acorn in the woodland garden, plant it in a recycled pot using Fairhaven leaf soil, then grow your own oak tree at home. Included in garden entry charge. 

Hedgehog Day with Hodmedod Hedgehog Support is on Saturday, October 21 from 11am to 3pm. Come along and learn how you can help make your garden hedgehog friendly this winter, plus children’s hedgehog quiz, tombola and hedgehog gifts. Drop in event, does not include garden entry.

Join the Fungi Foray with a Fairhaven forester on Saturday, October 28, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Find out how to identify death caps from deceivers on this exploration of the woodland garden. Don’t forget to bring your camera. Event included in garden entry charge, but booking is advisable. Sorry no dogs allowed on this tour.

Fairhaven is open daily all year from 10am to 5pm (closes 4pm in winter and also closed Christmas Day). Garden entry is adult £6.75, concessions £6.15, child £3.85 (under 5 free). Free entry to tearoom, gift shop and plant sales.
