Gardens are at their summer peak and here is just a small selection of Norfolk gardens opening for the National Gardens Scheme in July 2012.

On Saturday 7th July and Sunday 8th July how about a visit to the seaside at Wells-Next-The-Sea where you can tread the golden sands, have a gentle paddle and then have a look at WELLS-NEXT-THE-SEA GARDENS NR23 1DP.

There are five very different town gardens to browse with plentiful flower displays to admire.

On Sunday 15th July two nearby Norwich City gardens join forces. At 7 CONNAUGHT ROAD Norwich NR2 3BP you can view a cottage garden counterbalanced by shady areas and a terrace with planters.

NORTH LODGE Bowthorpe Road, Norwich NR2 3TN has lots of herbaceous planting and features a gothic conservatory, formal pond and pergola. The combined admission fee is £4.50.

On Sunday 22nd July CHESTNUT FARM West Beckham NR25 6NX celebrates ten years of opening for the NGS and has burgeoning herbaceous borders, unusual shrubs and small arboretum. There will be plenty of plants to buy with specialist nurseries visiting.

On Sunday 28th July 3 NORWICH TOWN GARDENS at Clarendon Road, Norwich NR2 2PN open their gates revealing similar sized plots but very different styles of planting and design. There is everything from hidden garden rooms to an oasis for wildlife and a full to the brim cottage garden.

There are also plenty of other Norfolk gardens which are long established favourites for visitors opening during July and full information about opening times and garden details can be found in the NGS Norfolk Garden Guide at your local tourist information centre, library, garden centre or nursery. There are also full details available at www.ngs.org.uk
