GPs in Suffolk are amongst the best in the region

Patients in Suffolk have rated their GP practices as some of the best in the region in the national GP patient survey.

NHS Suffolk GP practices were second in the NHS East of England region according to the latest poll results.

Members of the public were asked to rate their level of satisfaction with their GP practice over the last year – NHS Suffolk achieved an impressive overall satisfaction rate of 93.5%, well above the regional average of 90.3%.

In a series of five key questions, NHS Suffolk area GP practices achieved the highest overall average score and were rated top in the whole of the east of England for two categories, with easy ‘phone access to the surgery rated at 84% and ability to book two days ahead at 79.6%.

Additionally, 86.2% were satisfied with their ability to see their doctor quickly and 85.6% were satisfied with GP surgery opening hours.

Sadie Parker, NHS Suffolk Head of Primary Medical Services said: “The results of this survey highlight just how well our GP practices are doing at delivering an impressive level of service to patients and our practice teams should be proud of these results. NHS Suffolk will continue to support GP surgeries to further improve the experience patients have.”
