Fungi Forays

Fairhaven Garden – October Half Term Activities

Grow Your Own Oak Tree

It’s Grow Your Own Oak Tree Week at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden, South Walsham from Thursday 22 October to Sunday 1 November, daily 10am to 5pm. Head into the garden and forage for your own acorn, then take it away in a recycled pot filled with Fairhaven leaf soil.

Fungi Forays

On Saturday 24 October, there are two Fungi Forays from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm. Find out how to identify death caps from deceivers with fungi expert Dr Tony Leech on a foray in the woodland garden. Foray tickets are £6.20 adult, £5.70 concessions and £3.65 child. Booking is essential, sorry no dogs allowed.  Additional tearoom offer to foragers: mushroom soup, roll and a pudding for only £5 per person.

Bird Day with the RSPB

Then on, Tuesday 27 October it’s Bird Day with the RSPB, from 11am to 3pm. Prepare your garden for birds this winter by making bird feeders and bird boxes (small charge for bird box). This is followed by Dark Art Day on Wednesday 28 October, from 11am to 3pm. Create a dark art picture using natural materials and/or neon colours.

Normal entry charges apply for Grow Your Own Oak Tree Week, RSPB Bird Day and Dark Art Day: adult £6.20, senior citizen £5.70 and child £3.65 (under five free).
