Norwich Business Improvement District’s (BID) Head Out, Not Home events return this summer, offering free outdoor Thursday evening entertainment in the city centre.  

Run in partnership with Norwich & Norfolk Community Arts (NORCA) and the Covent Garden Company, the Head Out, Not Home campaign organised by Norwich BID encourages people to stay in Norwich, and to enjoy late night shopping and the vast array of bars and restaurants on offer.

Building on the success of last year’s Head Out, Not Home events programme, summer 2014 sees Norwich BID offer a new and exciting opportunity for budding local performers to get involved and take to the stage.  As well as the popular music and street theatre stages there will be a “Norwich’s Got Talent stage” dedicated to showcasing local acts.

Anyone can apply to take part and auditions will take place on the 26 and 27 April 2014 at The Garage and NORCA.  

Stefan Gurney, Executive Director of Norwich BID said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for all talented people to show Norwich what you’ve got.  We are really keen to get the local community and families involved to make Thursday evenings in Norwich the place to be.  Norwich is well known for its creative spirit so it will be great to see what talent is out there, we may just find the next big thing.”

Selected performers will be offered a slot during this summer’s Head Out, Not Home schedule, which runs on Thursday evenings from 12 June to 28 August, inclusive. 

Those interested should remember that performances need to be suitable for presenting outdoors and for a family audience.
