‘This one-on-one encounter will make you look at things in a new light.’

BBC Scotland, August 09

Step through the velvet curtains and get ready to hear the real life confessions of a stranger. You might find yourself revealing your innermost secrets in return…

Following a sold out run at this year’s Edinburgh Festival, IConfess comes to Halesworth for a one-off performance. I Confess is a unique theatrical experience. One audience member at a time enters a confessional and assumes the role of a priest mid-confession. An actor, situated on the other side of the divide, is the confessor. Over the course of ten minutes the audience member is regaled with an intimate range of stories that are funny, touching, heart-warming, and even a bit festive.

The confessional will be situated in the centre of Halesworth town thoroughfare, open to audiences from 10am to 3pm on December 20th as an extra-special part of the Halesworth Festive Shopping Experience.

Apart from a great range of independent shops – pubs, restaurants, the library and galleries being OPEN for business, many other attractions have been planned including a General Market in the Market Place, a Produce Market in the Old Print Works, Face Painting stall, a Folk Band at the library, and Christmas Music at St. Mary’s, an open invitation to visit the Church. Plus more attractions to be announced.

A vibrant entertaining atmosphere as shoppers browse and purchase last minute gifts and festive food as the Christmas lights sparkle, creating a very special atmosphere in this vibrant North Suffolk market town. The ‘HOPPA’ community bus will be in service throughout the period, FREE parking available in the car parks plus local bus companies providing their normal Sunday service.

On IConfess Director Nathan Curry states “This encounter is about sharing stories, and sharing moments together in the midst of an otherwise busy and public environment. In I Confess, individuals get the chance to stop, and to listen to another’s story, something we have little chance to do within our fast paced lives. We think there will be plenty of things to confess as festival fever reaches its peak! And who knows who’ll you’ll be in there with”
