The clay pigeon shoot at Holkham Country Fair is not to be missed, and there are plans for it to become the official Norfolk Masters Shoot from 2014. There will also be classic cars, a display of vintage military vehicles,  and over 200 trade, food and craft stands.

Historically, Holkham Country Fair has been held every other year, but it is set to become an annual event from now on, making it a permanent fixture in Norfolk’s summer calendar.

New director of the show, Dominic Reid OBE, comments: “The Holkham Country Fair originated to teach children about the countryside and its importance and traditions. That is why we let them in for free. Today more than 30 years on, the show is true to those educational roots and continues to celebrate everything rural.  But it also has spectacle, pageantry and sheer fun to make it a fantastic family day out. This is one of the best Country Fairs in the England and it’s evolving to bring something to people of all ages and interests.”

Dominic Reid has organised events professionally for the past 20 years, notably the Lord Mayor’s Show in London, the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race of which he was the first Executive Director and The Queen’s Golden Jubilee as well as a number of other national commemorations and other celebrations and events. He was appointed OBE for this work. Dominic has been living and working in Norfolk for over 10 years and is looking forward to developing the success and excitement of the Holkham Country Fair.
