Mens Cancer Charity get ‘On The Buses’
Local charity It’s On The Ball has come up with a novel way to raise awareness of Testicular Cancer, and encourage men to check themselves for signs and symptoms of the disease. From mid March to mid April a poster will be displayed on the rear of 25 First buses with the message, “Men! Check Yourselves Once A Month!”.
The poster design was unveiled recently at the Norfolk FA Football Development Centre (FDC), in Bowthorpe. Chairman of the charity, Vince Wolverson, said, “We are always looking at different ways to get the message out to men to check themselves regularly and not to hesitate in seeking medical attention should they have any concerns. Having our message on buses that travel throughout the county is a great way to get this message out to a wide audience. We’d like people to let us know via our Facebook page if you see one of our posters on a bus and whereabouts in the city or county you saw it, especially if you get a photograph of one!
It’s On The Ball is currently the nominated charity of the Norfolk FA and their terrific support helps to fund our various awareness campaigns”.
It’s On The Ball is a Norwich based charity, which aims to raise awareness of Testicular Cancer, and provide support to those affected and their families. Testicular cancer, although relatively rare, is the most common form of cancer in young men. If detected early enough, treatment is successful in over 98% of cases. The key message is for men to check themselves regularly for anomalies, and to seek medical advice if they have any concerns.
