Singer/songwriter Joanna Eden and vocal coach to superstar Sam Smith is thrilled to be bringing her concert Joni and Me to Beccles Public Hall.

Her tribute to the legendary Canadian singer/songwriter sold out at its first outing in London and has been touring to packed houses around the UK and Joanna is thrilled that tour dates have been featured on her musical hero Joni Mitchell’s own website www.jonimitchell.com.

Joanna has long been a fan of the enigmatic Joni Mitchell who’s award-winning and acclaimed singer-songwriting career spans six decades.  Eden has recently recorded her own album of Joni songs called ‘Joni & Me’ which has received rave reviews.  The album and Joanna’s live shows dip into Mitchell’s enormous repertoire and range of styles from simple, timeless ballads like Both Sides Now to more complex and rhythmic groovy numbers like Freeman in Paris.

Joanna’s thrilled to be performing in Beccles for the first time but is no stranger to Suffolk having sung to packed houses at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds, St Peter’s by the Waterfront in Ipswich, Snape Maltings and the Quay Theatre in Sudbury.

In the last two years Joanna’s life has been turned upside down thanks to her former student Sam Smith who Joanna mentored for nine years.  Sam, who began performing as Joanna’s backing singer, has been singing Joanna’s praises all over the world as he ascends to pop super-stardom with hits like the Grammy-winning “Stay With Me” and Oscar-winning James Bond theme “The Writing’s on the Wall”.

Sam’s continued support and the successful release of ‘Hold on Tight’, Joanna’s rendition of the first song they wrote together, has been a huge boost for Joanna’s career.

Finding top musicians for ‘Joni & Me’ has been easy because Joni’s songs are such a pleasure to perform and Joanna will be joined by one of the UK’s leading pianists Chris Ingham and a young star in the making Lewis Andrews on guitar and bass.

Joanna Eden performs regularly at prestigious venues like Ronnie Scott’s Club, The Stables and The Elgar Room at The Royal Albert Hall as well as touring all over the country and Europe.
