Judith Lubbock

Norwich Business Improvement (BID) City Hosts have been part of the Norwich scene since May 2013 and are quickly becoming an established part of the Norwich experience for visitors and locals alike.

The Lord Mayor of Norwich, Councillor Judith Lubbock, is so impressed with the scheme that she will be taking to the streets of Norwich and donning a vibrant blue tabard to undertake the role of City Host on the morning of Tuesday 9 September 2014.

The Lord Mayor said, “I am delighted to be part of the Norwich City Host scheme.  I am passionate about the city and will enjoy the opportunity to ‘show off’ Norwich to visitors and residents alike.  The city has so much to offer in terms of its historical buildings, its retail offer including the Lanes and its cultural life and a friendly face and a helping hand is all part of the visitor experience.  I congratulate Norwich BID in creating the Norwich City Hosts scheme.”

Jumara Mulcahy, City Hosts Supervisor said, “The City Host scheme has generated such interest with the people of Norwich and visitors, and it’s great that our Lord Mayor, Judith Lubbock is going to be supporting us by being a City Host and welcoming people to the city. This opportunity will give the Lord Mayor the chance to meet some of our fabulous volunteers as well as helping visitors in our fine city.”

The team, which are endorsed by Lord Coe, are hard to miss with their bright blue tabards emblazoned with the Norwich City Hosts logo and the words “Here to Help”.

Recruitment of City Hosts is ongoing; if you are interested in joining the team and becoming a volunteer please call Norwich BID on 01603 727931 or visit www.norwichbid.co.uk.
