“Each year we organise a whole raft of creative events under the title Celebrate the Waveney & Blyth”, commented Nicky Stainton, the Chair of Waveney & Blyth Arts.” This year we had 22 events and almost 1400 people got involved in walks, workshops and competitions or attended the exhibitions, performances and talks. We have had tremendous feedback and visitors particularly enjoyed the sculpture trail organised with the River Waveney Trust. This was a trial event and we were thrilled that over 600 people came along and said how much they liked the combination of art and landscape.”

As well as the speakers there will be Conversation Cafes to discuss ideas and activities for next year, and a News Slot where artists and organisations can promote their events and activities. “It is a great place to find out what is happening in the area and to meet other people who are doing all sorts of creative things, ” Nicky added.

The event runs from 10.30am to 1pm and costs £7 for the event alone or £20 for the event and membership of Waveney & Blyth Arts through till 31st December 2015. Contact Jan on 01986 895227 or [email protected] for further information.
