Mendlesham-Summer-Festival-Fireworks

9.20 pm:(approx) Fireworks

St Mary’s Mendlesham South Churchyard

Entrance – through Holy Cross Chapel (South Porch) of church, or gate at south side (older part) of churchyard; fireworks will be let off in adjoining field.

Beer Tent – where you can sample our Mendlesham’s Best – Assumption Edition 2013 Real Ale or purchase bottles to take home.

ADMISSION FREE – Donations appreciated. The fireworks are kindly donated, so please give generously to Church Restoration Fund.


Saturday 17th August, St Mary’s Mendlesham Church

7.30 pm Concert – Jubilate

Rebecca and Simon Welham (Cello & Organ) present a ‘Last Night of the Proms’-style concert, including ‘Rule Britannia’, ‘The Dambusters’, Jerusalem’, Land of Hope and Glory’ and ‘God Save the Queen’ and other popular classics. ‘Jubilate’ are a dynamic duo of local professionals comprising cello and organ, providing a unique twist on well-loved classics. They can conjure up an entire orchestra between them, while also show-casing their virtuosic skills in an entertaining & refreshing style. Toe-tapping is guaranteed as they present programme to celebrate our patron saint, St Mary, and 60yrs since HM The Queen’s Coronation, so wave your Union Flag and get set for an evening of summer jubilation.

Mendleshams Best - Assumption Edition 2013

Wine, soft drinks and our own Real Ale – Mendlesham’s Best, Assumption Edition 2013 – available in the interval and before the concert. You can also buy bottles of our Real Ale to take home.

This promises to be a spectacular event. Not to be missed!!

Enjoy a laid-back 1930s-style afternoon with a Jazz concert, a glass of our own Real Ale – Mendlesham’s Best – Assumption Edition 2013 – or a cup of tea. What better way to relax & enjoy a Summer Sunday afternoon… a truly enjoyable family event. Bring along picnic lunch/chairs/rugs, choose the place where you feel most comfortable as you are entertained to popular music of the 1920s and 1930s from the band. Wine, soft drinks and home-made teas also available.
