Lego trains and Father Christmas will be among the main attractions at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital as it opens its doors for the annual Christmas Fayre on Thursday 8th December, 4pm to 8pm.
For the more grown-up visitors, there was the chance to see Richard Hughes, head chef at The Lavender House, cooking some of his favourite Christmas treats in The Pod café at the event.
Children will be able to visit the grotto to see Father Christmas and visitors will be able to browse a variety of stalls and purchase books, toys, gifts, clothes and jewellery. There will be a chance to have a go on the Lego trains which run on an 8ft electric train track. Plus there will be plenty of seasonal food to buy and hot, roasted turkey baps to eat.
Entertainment will be provided by live performance from Busybodies Stage School, the NNUH choir, Norwich Rock Choir and the Norwich Hospital Radio.
Louise Cook, Fundraising Manager at the NNUH said: “There will be something for all age groups and a chance to look for something different as a gift for families and friends, while helping the hospital raise funds at the same time. We would not be able to hold this wonderful event which is enjoyed by our patients, visitors and staff without the support of all the performers, West Norwich Lions , Octagon and Serco – we are incredibly grateful to all those who help.”
The event will be raising money for the hospital charity. There is free entry to the event and free parking on the main hospital site.
