Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Wellbeing Roadshow

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with a number of other local organisations, will be heading to Great Yarmouth and Waveney to promote mental wellbeing and help reduce stigma around mental illness.

The Eastern Service Users and Carers Forum (ESCF) will be touring 10 towns and villages from 22 to 26 August 2016 to make it easier for people to come and speak to Trust staff and partner organisations.

Howard Tidman, a Charge Nurse at Great Yarmouth Acute Services and one of the organisers of ESCF, said: “We often find that people in more rural areas can find it difficult to visit our hubs, so this is a way of promoting our local services to friends and family members of those with mental ill health.

“It’s a chance for members of the public, especially those who have to be on hand 24 hours a day as a carer, to receive valuable advice and support.”

Joining NSFT and its Wellbeing Service will be staff from partner organisations including Feedback, Healthwatch Norfolk, Healthwatch Suffolk, Norfolk Carers, and Suffolk Family Carers.

Howard continued: “We very much hope lots of people will come along to meet and speak with us. It’s a great opportunity for people to learn more about what we have to offer, and also tell us what they think of our services.”

As well as speaking to representatives from the organisations at the events, the roadshow also provides an opportunity for people to be put in touch with other relevant bodies for help and support such as the Samaritans and Rethink.
