Norwich-Fashion-Week-2104

The organisers of Norwich Fashion Week are on the lookout for Norfolk’s answer to Matthew Williamson or Stella McCartney as it launches a scheme to find the county’s budding fashion designers.

Norwich Fashion Week, which will return to the city between 6th and 13th March 2014, is looking for local designers to each showcase an eight-piece collection at two flagship fashion shows, which form part of the packed Fashion Week calendar.

The Designer’s Show, which will be held at Epic Studios on 11th March 2014, gives new designers a chance to showcase innovative pieces and provides hopefuls with an opportunity to present their work to fashion buyers as well as the public. The last Designer’s Show attracted an audience of over 3,000 viewers worldwide and it is hoped that the 2014 event – themed ‘Over the Edge’ – will present the very best in Norfolk fashion design.

The second of the shows is Fashion Excess, an eclectic fusion of fashion and music which acts as the finale show to Norwich Fashion Week. Held at Open Club Room on 13th March 2014, the show aims to showcase a wide variety of designs from across Norfolk, including those from local retailers. Designers will need to create wearable pieces for this interactive show and work closely with local musicians.

Norwich Fashion Week Board Member Fiona Muller, comments: “This is a huge opportunity for anyone interested in a career in fashion design. These shows not only provide a platform for local talent to get noticed, but it creates such a wonderful organic element to the shows, which excites the public and helps to create a buzz in Norwich.”

The deadline for submissions is 15th November 2013. Hopefuls will need to complete an application form and submit a 200 word biog. For an application form or more information please contact Fiona Muller at [email protected].
