“Stompin’ at the Savoy” at the Public Hall!

Local three-piece trio, PALOMAR, explores the genre of 1930s swing known as ‘Chamber Jazz’ and this fine music style loosely based on the Benny Goodman Trio will be performed at Beccles Public Hall a week on Sunday.

In addition to performing such classics as ‘After You’ve Gone’ and ‘Avalon’ the Palomar trio will play compositions of other great jazz artists from Jelly Roll Morton to Goodman’s arch-rival Artie Shaw, peppered with anecdotes and stories from the swing era.

Join Ray Simmons on piano, Craig Hipperson on drums and Ron Hockett on clarinet and saxophone as they perform their chamber jazz numbers.

Performance starts at 3pm on Sunday 24th July (doors open at 2.30pm) and the bar will be open plus there will be hot beverages and cakes for sale in the interval. Tickets are £9 and £8 for concessions.

Look out for the latest programme for July, August and September for exciting events at the Public Hall this summer!

The Hall will be closed in August for overdue renovation work to the stage but the Box Office will be open for business as usual.

All tickets are available on-line at www.becclespublichall.com, from the Box Office open : Mon – Sat 10pm – 3 pm or by ringing: 01502 770060
