Anton Parocki

Southwold Rugby Club member to be a mascot at the World Cup

Southwold Rugby Club is very proud that one of its U13’s Anton Parocki has been picked as one of the Land Rover mascots for the Rugby World Cup.

Southwold U12’s were playing in the Land Rover Cup at Northampton last season. Anton took his opportunity whilst there to enter Land Rover’s competition to become a mascot at the 2015 World Cup, by blasted out his rendition of the national anthem which gained him this honour.

Anton has a special Land Rover Rugby World Cup 2015 kit to wear but has been asked to wear his Southwold Club socks barbarian style!

Anton will run out on to the pitch with the French team at the France V Canada game at 8pm on Thursday 1st October.

Southwold Rugby Club Mini and Youth Report 27th September 2015

This Sunday saw Southwold youth section at the Suffolk 7’s tournament at the Royal Hospital School.

The U13’s had a positive start against Colchester B scoring 4 tries to their 3 but missed out on the win due to conversions. The second game against Woodbridge saw Woodbridge dominating the first half but Southwold fought back in the second half. The third game against Colchester A was all square at half time but the second half saw Colchester score some quick break away tries.

The final game saw Bury dominated with speed and aggression, showing some good 7’s play. It was a well organised and run tournament and Southwold produced a good team effort with lots of positives to take forward to their first game of rugby on a full size pitch away at North Walsham on Sunday.

The U14’s had a great day with wins against Bury, Felixstowe and Woodbridge but just missed defending their title with a loss against Colchester.

The minis had another sunny session of training on the common ahead of their first friendly matches next week when they entertain Woodbridge at home.

If anyone would like to come along to Southwold Rugby Club and have a go at rugby then please look at our website and contact the relevant coach or turn up to a training session.

Or feel free to come along and watch an England game at the club, we will be showing all the England games and knock-out games (whether England qualify or not!) live on a big screen in the clubhouse with food available. The club is open from 6pm and food served from 6.30pm this Saturday ahead of England v Australia kick off at 8pm.
