A top tip Twitter account is being launched to help the county’s online community improve their emotional and physical wellbeing as part of Suffolk’s biggest health campaign.

@BeWellSuffolk has been set up by Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and forms part of Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Month, a series of wellbeing events taking place throughout October.

A top tip will be tweeted each day during the month with the aim of empowering people to improve their emotional wellbeing just from checking in on their Smartphone or computer.

The top tips are produced in association with The Wellbeing Service – the Trust’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) team – and include ideas such as:

· Focus your energy on problems that can be solved and ask for help if necessary.

· Be open to change and believe that change is possible.

· Do something you have been putting off – a small thing you have been meaning to do but not got round to.

Tips are also being produced for @BeWellSuffolk in conjunction with two other online events taking place during Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Month.

Random Acts of Kindness, organised by The Mind Sanctuary, encourages people to offer a selfless act in order to help or support others, such as calling a friend just to make them smile.

The Dirty Feet Campaign, which is being delivered by Christina Dilmann of MindQuest Life Strategies, is influenced by the Ghandi quote: “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with dirty feet”.

The email based project seeks to reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing by raising awareness of the “mental diets” we feed ourselves.

Details of all Suffolk Health and Wellbeing events – from free Zumba, yoga and singing sessions, stress busting workshops, to reminiscence roadshows and a film viewing – can be found at www.themindsanctuary.com

All tweets will have the hashtag #bewellsuffolk.
