The United Reformed Church in High Road will be among the venues open during the
Wortwell Gardens Open Day on Sunday 30th June 2013
It will be open from 9am.
The building, which dates from 1773, has recently undergone major refurbishment, including provision of kitchen and disabled facilities, the relaying of the original brick floor – which had become worn and uneven – and the replacement of pews with comfortable seating. It is hoped these improvements will enable the church to better serve the community.
Church Secretary, Phyllis Mills, said ‘this will give everyone the opportunity of viewing recent improvements made to the building’. Ploughman’s Lunches will be available from 12noon, and the day will end with a celebratory Songs of Praise at 6pm.
