Two must-see films coming up at Diss Corn Hall next week.

On Thursday, 12 August 8pm, music legend Ian Dury is brought stunningly back to life in the gutsy biopic, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (15) featuring a barnstorming performance by Andy Serkis.

Ian Dury was the singer-songwriter and pugnacious polio survivor who in the glorious anyone-can-have-a-go era of punk became a mega-star. Andy Serkis’s recreation of Dury is spot on and the vocals, with Serkis himself singing all the classic tracks with the Blockheads, are eerily good.
Tickets £4 / Students £2

Then on Saturday, 14 August a 3pm matinée screening of the insanely funny, fast-paced flick, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (U) provides a perfect afternoon’s entertainment for the family. And yes, there’s free pop-corn for under 18s!

When mad scientist Flint Lockwood invents a machine that turns water into junk food, he’s hailed as a hero. But after a freak accident hurls the malfunctioning invention into the atmosphere, rains of burgers and fries seem like a less tasty option…

Based on a favourite American children’s book, this latest animated film from Sony appeals to adults and children alike. Its quirky humour and great characters make Cloudy With Meatballs a must-see for the whole family!

Tickets: £4 / Children & students £2
Free pop-corn for under 18’s
