BUSINESSES are invited to showcase themselves at Europe’s largest oil and gas exhibition – by taking one of only two remaining positions on the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft stand.
Offshore Europe, the largest oil and gas conference and exhibition outside North America, attracts in the region of 63,000 industry professionals from more than 100 countries.
This year’s event, which takes place in Aberdeen, Scotland, from September 8 to 11th 2015, will coincide with the 50th anniversary of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft supporting offshore operations in the southern North Sea.
Great Yarmouth-based small- to medium-sized businesses exhibiting for the first time at the prestigious exhibition can still apply for a £1,000 grant towards the exhibition costs. These grants are available from the GYMI-PiPP scheme, which is designed to encourage companies in the sector to test new markets for their goods and services.
The stand is being organised by Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Waveney District Council and EEEGR (East of England Energy Group) as part of the East of England Energy Zone initiative.
A total of 18 businesses from Norfolk and Suffolk have already committed to positions on the impressive 115sqm custom-build stand, including Great Yarmouth-based API Technologies, API Capacitors, EastPort UK, Lion Engineering, STR Technology & Rentals, Inspection Verification Bureau, OAASIS, Applied Acoustic Engineering, Blaze Manufacturing and SoftStart UK.
Cllr Trevor Wainwright, the leader of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, said: “The offshore energy sector is vital to the local economy, with prospects of sharing in £50bn of investment in energy, including offshore wind, over the next 20 years. So it is crucial that the borough has a high-profile at this prestigious exhibition.
“Taking a collaborative approach with other organisations, we have supported companies at this exhibition for decades, with this year’s event marking an important milestone for the sector locally. I urge locally-based businesses to snap up these last two places and seize the opportunity to showcase themselves on the world stage.”
