KIDS BACK AT SCHOOL?

VOLUNTEER YOUR SPARE TIME AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL HOSPICE

St Elizabeth Hospice has opened services for people in Waveney and Great Yarmouth and is urgently appealing for local people to support them by offering their time to volunteer.

They would especially like to hear from parents who may have time to do something once their children go back to school after the summer holidays.

The Hospice relies on local people who dedicate their spare time and support to help continue to improve life for people living with a progressive illness.

There are a number of volunteer vacancies in Waveney and Great Yarmouth, with a wide variety of roles within many areas of the Hospice to choose from including:

patient hosts/hostesses in Lowestoft, Beccles or Ditchingham

patient drivers – Beccles, Lowestoft

hairdressers – Beccles, Lowestoft

complementary therapists – Waveney and Great Yarmouth

chaplains/spiritual care volunteers – Lowestoft

fundraising volunteers – Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth

shops – Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth

Hours can be flexible and you will have support and training.

Rebecca Barwick, The Hospice’s Volunteer Development Officer, said: “The support of our volunteers is vital, without them, the work of the Hospice could not continue.

“We recently expanded our services into Great Yarmouth and Waveney area many patients are benefiting.  But we need more volunteers to help us to continue to provide our services free of charge to the local community. Whether you can spare a few hours, a morning or even a whole day, your help is invaluable to the Hospice.”

St Elizabeth Hospice is investing £2.2million over three years to expand its services into Waveney and Great Yarmouth. The Hospice now has day services in Lowestoft, Beccles and Ditchingham, with a further day service to open in Great Yarmouth in the autumn. There are three inpatient beds in Ditchingham.
