ShowBitz – Songs from the Shows

To get the 2013 Watton Festival off to a flying start at the on Saturday 26th October the talented trio, Alison Peck, David Rees and Julie Hewitt – Showbitz – bring you a fabulous evening of “Songs from the Shows” This sparkling group have years of experience in wowing audiences across the country. Featuring some of the very best songs written for the stage, screen and heart.

A Great Morning’s Entertainment for Half Term Week! Puppet fun for all ages. Mr Punch will be here of course but so will some of his friends. Dandini Puppets present enough to fire the imagination of the very young but have plenty for the grownups to enjoy too.

Ladies of Legend

The narrators for your evening are characters who are recording a radio programme as a tribute to an elderly friend, Grace, a retired BBC producer who worked on Desert Island Discs for 40 years. She lived a quite life but secretly hoarded a collection of memorabilia relating to a variety of female ‘legends’ which she passed on to our narrators on her retirement. They are amazed at the volume of treasures in her possession and dedicate a radio programme to her eight favourite female legends. The show features live concert-style performances by the talented singer Susie Turner, accompanied on the grand piano by Annette Jude.

Whisky Galore

A wonderful way to spent an autumn afternoon. The year 1949 was a pretty miserable time in Britain. Postwar austerity was at its height and then along came Whisky Galore to cheer everyone up! The thirsty inhabitants of a remote Scottish village hijack the cargo of a whisky-laden merchantman wrecked on their shores during WW2 and defy the authorities to reposess it. Just the tonic for today!

Wit, Squit & Shenanigans – Norfolk Comedy Night
