Woodgate Nursery Event in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance

Woodgate Nursery is once again hosting its Annual Charity Garden Design and Advice Event on 19th and 20th May 2012. This follows on from last year’s successful event which raised more than £600 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Peter Purdy, Woodgate Nursery owner said, “We are delighted to be hosting the event again as we believe it gives everyone, from the novice to the experienced gardener, the opportunity to access a broad range of expert gardening advice for free and at the same time raises money for a good cause.”

This year’s event welcomes six local Garden Designers, all of whom will be demonstrating their talent by creating their own individual garden designs with a view to winning the Woodgate Nursery Best Garden Award.

The winner of the Best Garden Award is decided by YOU (the visitor) and by completing a voting slip you are automatically entered into a draw to win up to £100 worth of garden vouchers.

All of the designers will be on hand throughout the weekend, not only to talk through their designs but also to answer any specific questions that visitors may have relating to their own gardens. The Woodgate Nursery team will be available to answer any plant related questions and give advice on growing your own vegetables. Whilst all of the team possess a broad knowledge of plants, each works in their own specialist area, ranging from Perennials to Vegetables – so just ask!

In addition to the garden design competition there will also be a broad selection of gardening-related businesses and product suppliers, such as Green Thumb lawn care, Home grown Revolutions, Randells Garden and Grounds Equipment and Appletree Timber Buildings, who will all be offering specialist advice on topics ranging from growing your own vegetables in raised beds to lawn care.

Purdy’s Tea Room will be open as usual and will be offering a selection of light lunches, freshly baked cakes and scones, Lavazza coffee and speciality teas.

Although the event is free entry, there will be collection buckets available for anyone wishing to make a donation to the Air Ambulance. The event is on from 10am to 4pm daily.
