Wymondham On Show

There’s so much going on in Wymondham that it’s hard to keep track of all the organisations and what they do.  With this in mind, the Events Planning Team at Wymondham Abbey has decided to put on a ‘Wymondham On Show’ day on Saturday 7 May.

This is an event for the whole community, which aims to allow local people to find out what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ in the town.  The free event will be held in Wymondham Abbey churchyard from 11am to 1pm.  There will be wet weather provision in the Abbey itself.  Set up will begin at 8.30am.

The organising team is encouraging as many local clubs, societies, charities and small businesses as possible to take part. Nothing elaborate is required, just some enthusiasm and information to give out, although a table or other form of display might be useful.

Brian Randall, churchwarden and chair of the Abbey’s Events Team, hopes that the event will allow a lot of networking to happen. “A glance through the recently published Wymondham Town Guide shows just how many organisations there are in our lively town,” he said. “We would like the townsfolk of Wymondham to find out more about the wonderful variety of organisations and activities on offer.”  He added that, because of its size and facilities, the Abbey and its grounds make an ideal venue.

If you or an organisation that you know of is interested in taking part, please contact Esther Prendergrast, the Abbey’s Learning and Events Coordinator, t. 01953 607062, or e-mail [email protected],
