4 Simple Ways of Reducing Your Exposure to Covid-19

With so many contradictory messages about COVID-19 coming from all directions, it can be hard to know what to do. However, by sticking to a few simple pieces of advice that are backed up by science, we can all contribute to beating this pandemic.

Stay Indoors

The single most effective thing that we can all do to reduce the rate at which the Covid-19 pandemic is spreading is to stay inside as much as possible. Lockdown might be over for most people, but the pandemic is far from over. Remaining indoors and minimising contact with other people will ensure that the coronavirus has as few opportunities as possible to pass from one person to another.

Of course, everyone has to leave their home now and then, and people are starting to meet up with one another. When you do go outside, you can help to reduce the spread of the virus in a number of ways.

Wear a Face Covering

Whenever you are out in public, you should make sure to wear a face-covering or mask. Other than staying indoors, this is the most effective thing that can be done to keep transmission rates low, especially when combined with social distancing measures.

One of the most common reasons why many people have avoided wearing a mask is because they find them uncomfortable to wear. The N95 mask or FFP2 mask are both very effective at keeping COVID-19 out, but both are bulky and uncomfortable to wear for long periods. Fortunately, there are alternatives like the Air Queen mask, a medical facemask from Air Queen that provides equivalent protection to the N95 and FFP2 respirators. This option is much more comfortable to wear thanks to the use of breathable fabric. However, it is still an effective pathogen barrier that is approved for medical use.

Maintain Social Distancing

As well as wearing a face covering, you should also follow social distancing guidelines at all times. By maintaining a certain physical difference between ourselves and other people, we can greatly reduce the spread of the virus. It is important to practice social distancing as much as possible, but it is especially important when you are in an enclosed space with people that you don’t live with. Outdoors, the rate of transmission is much lower. However, you should still stay as far apart from other people as possible.

Wash Your Hands Regularly

Washing your hands with soap and water isn’t just an effective way of cleaning them, it will also physically destroy the coronavirus. One of the most common ways that the virus is able to spread is by people picking up the virus after touching an infected service. After that, as soon as they touch their face, the virus has an entry point into the body. Washing your hands regularly throughout the day will reduce the chances of you catching or spreading the disease.

It is important to stay up to date with the latest COVID-19 advice and make sure that you are adhering to all the appropriate guidelines. The pandemic is unlikely to end soon, but if we all do our bit, then it can be over as soon as possible.
