The Aldeburgh Business Association is, once again, busy preparing for a magical festive season which will be launched on Saturday 30th November with the Christmas Lights celebrations.

The High Street will look stunning with 150 lit Christmas Trees throughout the town and a feature tree in the centre and the many and varied shops will be glittering with a fabulous array of gifts, cards, accessories and home made produce for you and your home.
Saturday 30th will start with a series of master classes in the morning which are being finalised so be sure to come back to check for details or follow on Twitter
Throughout the afternoon there will be plenty of entertainment for children in Winter Wonderland theme including Santa’s Grotto, fairground rides, roundabout, trampolines, hook-a-duck, face-painting and story time sessions with the following schedule:-
2.30pm – Entertainment – brass band, Aldeburgh Primary school choir, singers and band playing – opened by the Mayor
3.00pm – Father Christmas arrival on a carriage
4.30pm – Lights Switch-on
5.00pm – Fireworks
Aldeburgh is renowned for it’s wealth of independent retailers and the perfect place to do your Christmas shopping with stunning jewellery and clothes for the ladies; perhaps a new camera or artwork for the man of the house; plenty of choice for the kids from stocking fillers and books to clothes and electrical goods and perhaps a hamper of delicacies for the grandparents.
Of course Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a feast so remember to order your turkey in plenty of time from Salters and be sure to stock up on all the trimmings, not forgetting the sherry! And when those feet are sore you can always enjoy a cuppa in a cafe or something stronger in one of the pubs in town whilst planning the rest of the Christmas holiday and perhaps a night off with a meal at one of the outstanding restaurants.
