Buddy Holly Winter Dance Party

In January 1959 Buddy Holly began ‘The Winter Dance Party Tour’, with Ritchie Valens, Big Bopper and Dion & The Belmonts. Sadly, this would prove to be Buddy, Ritchie & Big Boppers’ last tour.

This show will recreate the Winter Dance Party, with music from these rock n roll icons. From authentic attire to Buddy’s Stratocaster Guitar – the attention to detail will reignite memories of days gone by!

Kate Mosse: Warrior Queens & Quiet Revolutionaries

International bestselling Author Kate Mosse OBE comes to The Apex as part of her first ever theatre tour – Warrior Queens & Quiet Revolutionaries: How Women (Also) Built the World.

Audiences can expect a fabulous evening of entertainment; part detective story, part love letter about how history is made, part celebration of extraordinary, brilliant trail-blazing and inspirational women throughout history.

Sons of Pitches

A multi-award winning British vocal group combining soaring solos, impeccable harmonies and sensational beatboxing to stunning effect.  In 2015, they became the first winners of BBC2’s The Naked Choir hosted by Gareth Malone.

With over three million YouTube hits and a growing international reputation, The Sons have “given a cappella a kick up the backside” with their highly creative vocal gymnastics and a programme of inventive pop covers, original numbers and entertaining improvised songs.

Natasha blasted on the UK Soul scene over 10 years ago with her beautiful voice and vivacious personality. Having performed all over the world and opened up for the likes of Gladys Knight and the O’Jays, Natasha’s new album delivers a gritty mature and well-rounded soul sound.

Peter Knight & John Spiers

The pairing of violin and melodeon is not a new one, but in the hands of Peter Knight (Steeleye Span) and John Spiers (Bellowhead), improvisation and invention meet the listener at every turn. Together they have created something to inspire future generations of musicians to engage with Britain’s folk dancing heritage, and the beautiful, mysterious tunes that can be found within that heritage.

Originally brought together by FolkEast Festival for a one-off concert in 2016, their partnership has blossomed into “One of the most intriguing and exciting collaborations on today’s folk scene” – FRUK

The Amazing Bubble Man

Louis explores the breath-taking dynamics of bubbles, combining comedy and artistry with audience participation and enough spellbinding bubble tricks to keep everyone mesmerized. From square bubbles, bubbles inside bubbles, fog-filled bubbles, giant bubbles, bubble volcanoes, tornados and trampolines to people inside bubbles, the Amazing Bubble Man conjures shrieks of laughter and gasps of amazement from all ages.

Dr John Cooper Clarke

John Cooper Clarke shot to prominence in the 1970s as the original ‘people’s poet’; his unique poetry and delivery style was recorded and put to music by legendary producer Martin Hannett and a band of Mancunian stars, including Buzzcocks’ Peter Shelley and The Durutti Column’s Vini Reilly, masquerading as The Invisible Girls.

His latest live show is a mix of classic verse, extraordinary new material, hilarious ponderings on modern life, good honest gags, riffs and
chat.

London Ballet Company

The London Ballet Company prides itself in producing pristine, polished and perfected productions, with elements of intense emotion as well as comedic value. The first part of this special double bill is their version of Cinderella while in the second part, 00 & His 7, they embrace the world of everyone’s favourite spy, incorporating some of the aspects we love from the original tales; Bond, Beauties and Baddies!
