Aylsham Country Market, held every Friday morning in Aylsham Town Hall, is offering its customers the chance to win one of its members’ hand made scrumptious cakes.

Each month, starting in April, a selection of the Market’s wide range of cakes will be available for tasting and customers will be invited to vote for their favourite.  At the end of the month, the votes will counted and a name will be drawn out of the hat from those that voted for the winning cake.  That person will win one of the most popular cakes to take home and enjoy.

Aylsham Country Market manager Debra Kidd commented, “We have a fantastic range of cakes every week, from lovely light sponges to wonderful fruit cakes.  We thought we would give our customers a chance to try some of those they might not ordinarily buy.  At the same time, it will give our hard working producers the opportunity to get some valuable feedback.”

Aylsham Country Market is a cooperative of local producers and is held every Friday in Aylsham Town Hall from 8.50am to 12noon.  As well as the great selection of cakes, it also offers savouries like cheese biscuits and sausage rolls, desserts including bakewell tarts and lemon meringue pies, plus soups, eggs and even local goats meat.  There’s a range of fresh vegetables and fruit together with crafts which include scarves, children’s clothes and greetings cards.
