Our Summer Season of talks in May is available to book!

Once again we are offering our summer season of talks on Wednesday evenings in May. All the talks start at 7pm and cost £4 per person. (Friends of the centre are entitled to one free entry – to claim your free entry, please email the centre to book a place.) Booking essential.

Wednesday May 2nd – A Blickling Soap Opera – Brian Butcher
The dramatic life and times of Henrietta Howard who was born at Blickling. The talk covers her fascinating life and times through family tragedy and poverty to royal service.  This is a story which is very much a soap opera.

Wednesday May 9th – SERV Norfolk Blood Bikes – Keith Grisedale
Find out more about the work of this brilliant charity. The proceeds from this talk will be donated to the charity.

Wednesday May 16th – WHAT IS A PAINTING STYLE? – Clive Ashwin
We often hear terms like Realism, Impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism and Surrealism. What do such terms mean? This talk will illustrate and discuss a wide range of styles adopted by painters and ask what makes them distinctive. The talk will be of special interest to art enthusiasts and practising artists.

Wednesday May 23rd – Cake, Sweat and Gears – Paul Andrew
The story of a solo cycle ride from Lands End to John O’Groats and the people and cakes encountered on the way!

Needle Felting Owl workshop – suitable for beginners

Friday April 20th 10 – 12.30  suitable for all abilities – all instruction and materials included (including the most important element of tea and biscuits!) No previous experience necessary. These workshops are always fun, with no pressure at all! This time you would be wise not to miss is as we will be making owls! £15 per person. Booking essential.
