Beccles kicks off the lights switch on with fireworks from the Church tower.

This year it will also start the Beccles Tree Trail. 50 lit Trees spread around the town that have been decorated by businesses. Somewhere on the tree there will also be a letter which is a part of a sentance to create. The trail will run until Christmas Eve with a prize winner drawn to win accomodation and meal for two at the Kings Head, Beccles. During the evening there will be live entertainment on a stage in the town centre with lots of local groups taking part.

Around the town will be many stalls selling not only many great ideas for Christmas, crafts etc but also hot/cold food and drink. Santa willl be in his grotto in the Church tower and there will be small fair rides supplied by Stocks eg Crazy Cottage. There will also be street entertainment during the eve. Hungate church kicks off its display of Christmas trees also for the weekend. The shopkeepers decorate their windows and what a show they make.

Lots of the towns shops and restraurants will be staying open till late so why not make a night of it and start off by listening to carols from the stage, browse round the stalls and shops and then wind the evening up with a social gathering. All of this in the great Suffolk town of Beccles.
