Beccles Food and Drink Festival

Beccles town centre is set to be transformed as the Beccles Food and Drink Festival 2018 returns for another gastronomic extravaganza.

The free event, which runs from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. on Saturday 26th May, is following a tried and tested formula, and upwards of 65 stalls will be selling a variety of raw and cooked food, preserves, pickles, oils and other condiments, confectionery, and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Among local producers, Chet and Waveney Vineyard will be making their first appearance at the event, while from further afield The Chutney Barn, Curry Pie and Mr Bees will be attending.

In addition to the town centre, stalls will be nearby in and around St. Michael’s Church, and also in the Public Hall, where East Coast College will be running a Cookery Theatre throughout the event, consisting of a variety of cookery demonstrations and talks.

There will also be music and children’s entertainment around the town centre to add to the atmosphere.

Full details will be provided in Food Trail leaflets available from the Festival Information Point and a variety of town centre businesses on the day.

Visitors are encouraged to use public transport to the town, or make use of the Free Park and Ride minibuses from the Festival car park at Beccles Quay.

This is now the fourth year of the Food and Drink Festival, which has become a popular event in the calendar for both producers and visitors alike.

Full details on the event, including a list of stallholders, the Cookery Theatre programme, and a map showing car parking and festival locations, is available at www.becclesfoodfestival.co.uk
